One of the leading groups to provide baroque music outside of London will be performing at a village church later this month.
Fiori Musicali, which is based in Preston Capes and founded by Penelope Rapson, is presenting a concert of music entitled Tallis and Byrd at St Peter’s Church in Wolfhampcote near to Braunston.
It will be held on Sunday, June 29 and starts at 7pm.
Among the music to be performed at the traditional midsummer concert held at the mediaeval church is Byrd’s Mass for Five Voices and Magnificat and Nuncdimittis by Tallis.
There will also be renditions of Taverner’s O splendor gloriae, Sheppard’s Libera Nos and O Nata Lux by Tallis.
There will be a chance for people to join Fiori Musicali for a picnic in the dusk by candlelight to be held following the concert.
Tickets for the show cost between £15 and £20 and there is a 20 per cent discount for children, students, unemployed and blue badge holders.
