Fiori Musicali will be performing at the church of St Mary Magdalen in Castle Ashby on Sunday.
The Fiori chamber orchestra will be performing Bach’s Concerto in D minor.
This piece comes down to us today as a harpsichord concerto, but it was originally written by Bach as a concerto for violin and strings and Fiori will be performing it in an artfully re-constructed version of the original made by Fiori’s star performer, much admired baroque violinist Kerstin Linder-Dewan.
Director of Fiori, Penelope Rapson comments “Fiori have built up a real following for 17th- and 18th-century music, taking this music to some of the remoter areas of the country, including picturesque villages from Rutland to Somerset.
“But this is an opportunity to hear us on our home patch.”
Punters are also encouraged to bring a picnic and make the most of this special event.
Picnics from 6pm.
The concert on Sunday, (July 20) begins at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £20 and are available from www.fiori-musicali.com or by calling the Fiori Musicali Box Office on 01327 360931.
