BEWARE of low flying custard pies as the National Clown Theatre performs in Daventry on Sunday.

Combining the comedy of pantomime with the fun of the circus, the performance, at Daventry Leisure Centre, features traditional slapstick, magic, a human slinky acrobat, balancing, high flying diabolos, prizes and surprises. The company were featured guest stars on ITVs Alan Titchmarsh Show last year.

“We are bringing bucketfuls of laughs and gallons of fun,” said Charlie Cheesecake the show’s chief laughtermaker.

“We are one of Britain’s last surviving travelling clown troupes with second generation performers.

“Children still love to laugh at slapstick comedy. Just look at the popularity of You’ve Been Framed. Some of the biggest laughs come from humour that has not altered since the days of court jesters in the middle ages.

“Its great to laugh, whether you are two or ninety two. We hope to make as many people laugh in Daventry as we can”.

The performance starts at 2.30pm. Tickets are £5 and are available by calling 01384 423496.
