More than 800 people took the rare opportunity to venture to the bottom of Lock 3 in Braunston during the weekend.

The lock has been drained for maintenance work costing £37,500 and the Canal & River Trust has been taking the opportunity to give people guided tours of the site. In addition children from Braunston Primary School also put on an exhibition about their visit to the lock.
