Four charters dating back hundreds of years have returned to Daventry Town Museum.

The charters, from 1576, 1590, 1607, and 1675, gave the town corporation the ability to levy taxes and hold markets, among other powers. They were housed at the museum until refurbishment work started. They have since been restored and given their own specially designed cabinet to safely store them in which also allows the public to view them.
