St Martin’s Church in Welton is to host a concert by the JuditSingers on Friday as part of Daventry Arts Festival.

The JuditSingers were founded a little over three years ago by Sue Henderson and Ruth Quilter, who persuaded the renowned Hungarian soprano, Judit Felszeghy, to direct the group.

Judit moved to the UK in 2009 and since then has been building a growing reputation as a professional soloist and singing teacher.

The repertoire of the JuditSingers covers a variety of genres, from Baroque classics to The Beach Boys, accompanied and a cappella.

The concert, “Music for a Summer Evening” will include a number of short pieces, including solos from Judit. The choir consists of around 30 singers, including familiar faces in the village.

The concert, which starts at 7.30pm, should finish around 9.00pm. Tickets are £7 each. Call 01327 312433, 01327 312514 or on the door.
