Choir's Long Buckby concert

A choir in Long Buckby is celebrating raising more than £1,500 from concerts last year with a new show.

The concert by Elation Community Voices is on Saturday, July 9, at St Lawrence Church, Church Street, Long Buckby, at 7.30pm and is in aid of their member nominated charity for this year, the Palliative Care Unit at Danetre Hospital.

The modern, contemporary choir with a repertoire which includes songs by Sam Smith, Adele, the Beatles and Motown numbers has members aged from 20 to 80-plus and includes two guide dog owners. The choir is under the directorship of Rev Nathan Toseland.

The Long Buckby choir raised over £1,600 from their concerts last year for the DACT Charity and Rob Kinning from DACT will be at their first concert for this year to receive the cheque.

Tickets for the concert are £6 for adults, £5 for concessions and children under 16 are free. They are available from The Peephole, The Peacock and Buckby newsagents in Long Buckby and The George at Kilsby.
