An artist from the town will be exhibiting at Daventry Library starting next week.
Roger Hughes, 67, from Daventry has put together a wide range of work in an exhibition called Never Too Old.
He said: “I have been painting for only two years since my retirement in 2011.
“I did this exhibition in an attempt to encourage other retired people to take up painting.
“It is something that I enjoy and when you have finished something and people comment on it, then that is very nice feeling.”
He has a certain fondness for a certain subject.
Roger added: “I have tried many subjects including portraits, architecture, flowers, landscapes but most recently, animals have become a firm favourite.
“These creatures are a joy to paint and fascinate me immensley.”
He will donate 10 per cent of any sales from the exhibition to the World Wildlife Fund.
The pieces can be seen at the library from Saturday and will be on display for a month.
It is free entry and can be seen during regular library opening hours.
