Avid sportsgoers inspired by Britain’s success in lawn bowls at the Commonwealth Games are invited to give the sport a try on Saturday.

Stefen Hill Sports Park will be holding a fun day from 10am to 3pm in partnership with Bowls Daventry, an association of clubs campaigning to promote the benefits of the sport more widely.

As well as bowls, there will an opportunity to learn about other sports offered in the park as part of a series of events across the county.

Mr Hedley Bowen, President of Bowls Daventry and manager of the England Junior International bowls team at the Commonwealth Games, said: “This is an exciting project to show bowls in a different light and open the sport up to a new and wider potential membership.”
