BOB'S NATURE NOTES FOR JULY
We were staying on the east coast for the first couple of weeks of the month – not the best time to choose to go bird-watching. Swifts are flying over the village moving south to find better feeding and sunshine.
During a walk I saw a good number of willow warblers (young and adults) mixed with chaffinches and most of the tit families.
The occasional bunting is now seen, as well as reed buntings. A few bullfinches, yellowhammers and linnets are also about. In the last two weeks of the month I have been receiving regular reports of red kites.
