Tows wasted several good attacking positions but a quickly taken penalty saw Dave Stocks score for a 7-12 half-time lead.
In the cold driving rain both sides struggled. Finally a lineout drive score for skipper Liam Wilkinson and a conversion by Falvey stretched Tows’ lead.
The Peterborough outfit came back with a try from a quickly taken penalty. But Tows looked to have made the game safe with a try from young prop Conor Cahill.
But a needless kick gifted possession to the Borough right wing who ghosted down the touchline and around under the posts, giving the hosts hope of a comeback.
