Jim Mallinder’s men were without a host of first-team stars for the Champions Cup quarter-final defeat at Allianz Park last Saturday.

Dylan Hartley, Kieran Brookes, Tom Wood and George North were all on the injured list, while Ben Foden picked up a groin injury during the 29-20 loss.

And when asked whether any players will return to face Tigers in the must-win Aviva Premiership clash at Franklin’s Gardens, West said: “It’s touch and go with quite a few people.

“The team will be different to last week.

“We picked up a couple of knocks last week that we’re working hard to get right.

“We’ve been working hard in the past couple of weeks to get people back to fitness so it’s a bit up in the air at the moment.

“We’ll have a good training session on Friday when we know who we’ve got to work with.”
