A DAVENTRY golfer has won a gold medal after taking part in a major tournament.
Pam Giles, of Daventry and District Golf Club, earned the gold medal competing in the Masters Games at Dunedin in New Zealand.
This is the eighth time the Daventry golfer has entered the prestigious competition.
She got a bronze in 2008 at Dunedin and at Wanganui in 2011. She also achieved a gold at Dunedin in 2010 as well as her latest golden achievement this year.
It is a 36-hole medal over two days and two courses. Pam won the net competition in her age group.
She has been a member of Daventry and District Golf Club since 1965 and plays off a handicap of 25.
Pam, who lives in Daventry, said she was “very pleased to have won gold.”
