WITH all games off last weekend, Long Buckby lost the chance to enhance their position as league leaders.
But they can look back to a very satisfactory start to the season.
Played 13, won 13 is good by any standards with 500 plus points being scored.
The seconds are not far behind, having played 12 and won 11, losing just once to Brackley Firsts.
Johnny Nixon is the top try scorer with 14, followed by Tom Evans, Rob Cantrell and Jamie Ashby with seven each.
Jack Keightley has kicked 132 points, with Johnny Palmer and Dan McNally on 58.
With the third team having 15 starts, Buckby are at last getting the numbers they need to do even better.
The club can now look forward to a hectic New Year, as they have league games to catch up and are still in the Senior Vase, Alliance Cup and Lewis Shield.
But with their playing resources, team spirit and well informed and enthusiastic coaching team, the way is certainly onwards and upwards.
