Talented town athletes secure third place

DAVENTRY Athletic Club’s U17 team had a good third place finish in their latest McCains Young Athletes League Midland 1NE match at Burton.

At U13 level Emily Sanderson won the Girls’ 150mA (22.3) and Long Jump (3.90m) and placed second in the 75mA (11.1).

Georgia Seeney collected a win double in the 150m B and Long Jump B, Joe Stewart won the Boys’ Long Jump A and George Price finished second in the 100m B.

In the U15 age group, Connor Aldridge won the Boys’ 200m A (25.5) and 300m A (39.4), Jack Bond won the 800m A (2.14.2) and the High Jump A and came second in the Long Jump A (5.25m).

Josh Wilson finished second in the 1500m A and Paige Hobbs was placed second in the Girls’ 800m A. Megan Owen came second in the High Jump A (1.40m).

In the U17 category, there were win trebles for Niklas Aarre in the Boys’ Discus A (44.06m), Shot A (11.93m) and High Jump A and Sam Meyler in the Long Jump A (6.08m), 100m hurdles B and Shot B.

Kieran Russ won the 100m hurdles A (14.7), Lloyd Pay won the Triple Jump A (12.10m)and Matt Clarke won the Discus B (30.49m) and High Jump B and was placed second in the 100m B.

In the Girls section, Angelia Cooney won the 800m A and 300m B.

Emily Print won the Long Jump A and came second in the Shot A and Discus A.

Georgia Webster finished second in the 80m hurdles A and Abbie Barns was placed second in the High Jump A and won the Discus B.
