There were few surprises in the first round of the Northampton Triples League Knock Out competition but it was a close call on several matches.

Results were:

Express ‘B’ beat Daventry Tigers 57-53 shots; Abington ‘B’ beat Wootton ‘B’ 78-55 shots; West Haddon beat Harpole ‘B’ 62-36 shots; Northampton Whyte Melville ‘A’ beat Brackley 57-43 shots.

Kislingbury ‘B’ beat Heyford 70-49 shots; Northampton West End ‘B’ beat Carlsberg 49-47 shots and Bugbrooke beat Northampton West End ‘A’.

Desborough beat Kislingbury ‘A’ 66-63 shots; St Crispin ‘A’ beat St Crispin ‘B’ 102-44 shots; Byfield beat Daventry Town ‘B’; Wootton ‘A’ beat Cogenhoe 70-58 shots; Roade beat Cold Ashby 65-46 shots.

Kingsthorpe ‘A’ beat Northampton Whyte Melville ‘B’ 78-52 shots; Harpole ‘A’ beat Daventry Town ‘A’ 56-54 shots; Abington ‘A’ beat Earls Barton 77-42 shots.

The next round will be played by July 17.
