Saints stars Teimana Harrison and Mike Haywood have been named in the Aviva Premiership team of the season.
Both players have enjoyed fine campaigns and were announced in BT Sport’s dream team at Wednesday night’s Premiership Rugby end-of-season awards dinner.
It is yet another accolade for Harrison, who was named Saints’ supporters and players’ player of the year as well as breakthrough player of the year at the Northampton awards do.
The 23-year-old recently linked up with the England squad for a training camp in Brighton and will be hoping to be part of next month’s three-Test tour of Australia.
Haywood has yet to get international recognition, but has been a key figure for Saints in recent seasons.
The hooker is rivalling Dylan Hartley for a starting spot at his club and will hope to follow in the England skipper’s footsteps at international level in the coming years.
In other news from the Premiership awards night, Harry Mallinder and Paul Hill missed out on the discovery of the season award, which went to Saracens lock Maro Itoje.
George Pisi was nominated for the try of the season prize for his superb score in the final-day win at Gloucester, but the accolate went to Leicester Tigers hooker Harry Thacker for his effort in the win against Saints at Franklin’s Gardens last month.
The big awards of the night, player of the season and director of rugby of the season, both went to Champions Cup winners Saracens.
Full-back Alex Goode won the player award, while Mark McCall was crowned the league’s best boss.
