Mixed fortunes for sides in league ties

LAST week saw just two games played in Division Two of the Daventry Darts League.

In the first game, Bowls Club entertained Dun Cow. The away side got off to the perfect start winning both pairs games through Rich Winn and Keith Chapman followed by Steve Berry and Nev Thornicroft.

The away side then continued to dominate with singles wins for Keith Chapman (133), Rich Elliot (135), Rich Winn (100 x 2), Clive Hart (125, 100) and Steve Berry to give Dun Cow an overall 7-0 victory.

In game two, The Peppermill played host to Con Club B and the home side took both pairs games through Lee Astill and Charlie Astill (100, 125, 100) followed by Colin Summerfield (140, 100) and Paul Butler (100). They also took the opening singles game through Troy Miller (102).

The away side got on the board thanks to Alan Thornicroft (138, 100 x 2). But further home wins came for Paul Butler (100 x 2), Alex Miller and Simon Gulliver (134, 125, 100) to give The Peppermill a 6-1 win overall and maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

A reminder to all teams that singles and doubles competition entries need to be handed in by the league meeting at DWMC on January 12 and no late entries will be accepted.
