Juniors bring home the trophies

SEVEN junior members of Rugby Triathlon Club – which includes athletes from the Daventry area – competed at the Paul Weston Memorial Triathlon at Birmingham University.

The junior triathlon took place within the grounds of the university and was well attended.

Two of the juniors were trophy winners.

Anja Wyatt, eight, who is Tri Start category, achieved second place girl, by completing the course of 50m swim, 1.5k bike and 0.6k run in 13 mins two seconds.

Anja has only recently joined Rugby Triathlon Club and is a budding triathlete.

Aiden McGuirk who competes in Tri Star 2 completed his race of 200m swim, six km bike and 1.8km run in 24 minutes 37 seconds and achieved third male.

Also competing were Holly Glover who completed the Tri Star 1 course – 150m swim, 4km bike and 1.2 km run in 24 mins 53 secs.

Joe Childs completed the Tri star 2 course in 25 mins 35 secs.

Katie Clements, Niamh Emery and Emily Childs all compete at Tri Star 3 level- 300m swim, 8km bike and 2.4km run – results were Katie 38:09. Niamh 42:31 and Emily 48:33.
