Have your say

Long Buckby travelled to Coventry & North Warwick and scored a last-gasp equaliser in a 4-4 thriller.

Buckby took an early lead with a deflected shot from Susan Fox, and it was soon 2-0 when Holly Harris hammered a shot home.

Coventry pulled a goal back just before the break to make it 2-1 at half-time.

With Coventry suffering a sin-binning, Harris scored again to make it 3-1, but the home side roared back to level at 3-3.

Coventry then took the lead with few minutes remaining and it looked as though Buckby would return empty-handed.

But they were awarded a flick and Sarah Barnes stepped up to score and make it 4-4.

Harris was named player of the match.

It’s one over the eight as Solihull run riot

Long Buckby IIs endured a nightmare afternoon as they were thrashed 9-0 at Solihull IIIs.

Solihull were clear and the game was over by half-time.

In the second half some excellent defensive work from Holly Singleton and Abby McDowell, combined with some great saves from Johanna Russell, frustrated Solihull.

But the home side added a couple of extra strikes to make it 9-0.

The club is currently looking for new players, so if anybody is looking to join a fun, family hockey club, please check out our website at www.longbuckbyhc.org

Effort fails to pay off as Daventry lose out

Daventry Ladies put in plenty of effort, but still ended up on the wrong side of a 5-0 beating from Towcester.

Forced in to a reshuffle Daventry struggled to play their free flowing game and credit to Towcester who played some nice hockey and scored some good goals, despite some great goalkeeping from Karen.

Daventry had opportunities at key moments in the game but couldn’t find a breakthrough. Ronaldo and Jules worked tirelessly up front and Alex’s driving runs caused Towcester problems.
