CASEYS Golf Society played their August society day at Kilworth Springs last weekend and 26 players enjoyed a day of sunshine.
The course played extremely tough with the rough handing out severe punishment to any wayward shots, so staying on the fairway was the main priority for all players.
Scoring was generally very low, with 16 players scoring 29 points or fewer and earning a handicap increase.
Stableford winner on the day with 40 points was Steve Cale (15 handicap) with Brian Seal (12 handicap) the runner-up on 34 points and Simon Hooper (24 handicap) in third on 34 points, beaten on count-back.
Nearest the pin spot prize winners were Steve Cale (second hole), Ian Sales (sixth hole), Mark Shackleton (twelth hole) and Liam Bullough (eighteenth hole), with Brian Seal taking the nearest the pin in two prize on the 14th hole.
The next society outing will be at Silverstone Golf Club on Saturday, September 8 - please register interest at Caseys Club if you would like to join them.
