Four-point lead that is in the basket

BARCLAYCARD took a four-point lead in the first quarter with Duston Ladies keeping up the fight to close the gap in the Daventry Netball League.

Barclaycard pulled away for a win of 34 to 18.

The second game of the morning saw Ashmore Tornadoes taking a good lead in the first quarter.

Moulton Meerkats’ shooting was not reflected in the final result of the match. Good defensive play by both teams and good interceptions by the Moulton Meerkats defenders saw the final result a win for Ashmore Tornadoes 40 to 9.

Next up on court was Fusion and Hornets with both teams scoring goal for goal in the first quarter.

As the game went on Fusion started to pull away with a five-point lead.

With good defensive work Hornets shortened the gap but at the final whistle Fusion won 24 to 23.

The fourth game saw Cummins and Duston Juniors do battle. There was excellent centre court play from both teams and Cummins’ defenders kept up the pressure but Duston Juniors were victors 26 to 11.

The final match of the morning saw G&Ts take to the court with only six players to start against Ashmore Phoenix.

G&Ts stopped Ashmore Phoenix taking a lead of four points. G&Ts kept up the pressure but it was not enough and Ashmore Phoenix won 28 to 12.
