Long Buckby travelled to take on Slim Jims and ended up losing 5-2.
The first of the doubles games had Paul Butler (100 x 4) and Sam Harris (80, 140) taking on Mick Feasey and Paul Scott (100), with the home side coming off the better 2-0.
The next game brought the match all square as Ray Feasey and Ian Bow (123, 100) struck back for the visitors defeating Shaun Hicken (100) and Dave Harris 2-0.
Going into the singles and it was to be the home side who took back the lead as Troy Miller (100 x 3) saw off Mick Feasey (100 x 2, 180), also by 2-0.
This proved to be the pattern of the match as victories for Anthony Mason (100, 120, 118) Paul Butler (140 x 2, 115 finish, 100) and Dave Harris (100 x 3) against Paul Scott (100 x 3, 121), Ray Feasey, and Pete Shirley (140) sealed the night for the home side. Ian Bow (100) was to be the only other victor for the away side, as he saw off Rachel Harris (100) 2-0.
Casey’s showed the Workers how to hit the big 180 in their clash. Both were to be thrown in the singles games, one apiece for Brocky and Nigel Turland.
In fact, it was a fruitful night all round for the home side as they started off by taking the first two doubles games both being 2-0, with the wins going to Dave Jones (100, 140) and Dave Summerfield (125) against Allan Taylor and Rich Ludlow (140, 100 x 2) then Brocky (140, 120) with Gary Birch (140) against Gavin Taylor (100 x 2) and John Taylor (100).
The first singles game saw the first 180 of the night as Brocky (100, 180) beat John Taylor (100) 2-1. The next game was a close encounter between Dave Jones (100 x 5) and Rich Ludlow (102, 140, 135) with Rich coming off as the 2-1 winner. Game three saw Casey’s getting back to winning ways with Ray Jones (100 x 2, 140 x 2, 125) showing his brother how to win a game as well as score a bit unfortunate this was for Willie Taylor being beaten 2-0.
Game four and Luke Spence (100 x 3) kept the momentum going for the some side as he took out Connor Taylor (100) 2-0.
It was the last game of the night that saw the second 180 of the match as Nigel Turland (180, 100 x 2) finished his game as a 2-1 winner against Dave Haines (100). Casey’s sealed the 6-1 win.
The third match of the evening was The Con Club B entertaining Daventry Town FC. Donna (100) and Packy Andrews were up first for the home side but were seen off 2-0 by Darren Foster (100 x 2, 140) and Dennis Job.
Mick Mynard and Anne Norcombe fared no better as they also lost out 2-0 to Paul ‘Bully’ Bull (121) and Nigel Foster (140, 100).
Into the singles and the home side took the first game with JP winning through against John Foster 2-1. This win though was to prove to be the last of the night for the home side, as they went on to lose the next four games all by 2-0. The games were Packy Andrews v Nigel Foster, Donna v Dennis Job, Steve Binder v Bully and finally Mick Mynard v Darren Foster (100 x 2 108). Final Score was 1-6.
