It was Divisional Cup time in the Daventry Darts League, with Casey’s hosting Woodford Social Club.

Woodford took an early lead as Joe Newby and Ricky Cole came out 2-0 winners against Gary Wade and Gary Birch.

Dan Wheatley and Dave Summerfield then restored order for the home side as they also came out 2-0 victors over Callum Lovell and Tom Goswell.

Dave Summerfield then stayed at the board to record the first of the singles wins to the home side defeating Joe Newby 2-1.

Dan Wheatley secured the next game for the home side by seeing off Chris Flynn 2-0, only for Ricky Cole to keep the away sides hopes alive as he beat Dave Jones 2-1.

Gary Wade then settled it for Casey’s as he won his match 2-0 against Callum Lovell. Luke Spence was left to put the icing on the cake as he again won 2-0 against Stuart Scarsbrook. Final Score 5-2.

The two Daventry Town teams met, and this was a closely-fought contest with the B side being the home side, and it was them to take the first game through Rachel Harris and Richard Denis as they saw off Nigel Foster and Bully by 2-0.

The A side struck back through Darran Foster and Ray Jones as they threw themselves to a 2-0 victory over B’s Hill and Paul Bodsworth.

Into the singles and Nigel Foster took his singles game against Rachel Harris 2-1, only for Richard Denis to make it all square hitting a 180 as he beat Bully 2-1.

The match swung once more to the A side as Darran Foster saw off Paul Bodsworth 2-1 despite Paul scoring well and checking out a 120 finish. Dave Harris then set up a deciding leg as he came off the winner with a 2-1 advantage over John Foster.

Rachel Harris and Ray Jones then came to the oche and traded blows, only for Ray to make the vital hits giving him the win 2-0 and the A team the match 4-3.

In the B Division Cup, Wheatsheaf Weedon A ‘travelled’ to take on their own B team.

The match started well for the A side as Luke Clements and Bryan Farmer beat Julian Wickham and Phil Smith 2-1, followed by Mick Doney and Lee Arnold beating Nigel Jones and Mark Parker 2-0.

In the first of the singles, Roy Osbourne kept up the winning ways for the A side as he won 2-0 against Phil Steele.

Julian Wickham started a home side fightback as he beat Andy Smith 2-0, then Phil Smith continued the fightback as he saw off Lee Arnold 2-1.

Sadly for the B team this was to be the end of their recovery as Bryan Farmer shot down Mark Parker 2-0, and Mick Doney then sealed the result by taking his game 2-0 over Nigel Jones. Final Score 2-5.

Con Club B were at home to the Workers in the last match of the night, but it was to be a bad night for the home side as they lost 7-0.

Their only leg win came from Alan Jones in his match where he went down 2 – 1 to Allan Taylor, all other games went 2-0 to the away side.
