GOLFER Danny Carty came out of a slump in form to lift the MBS stableford title at Hellidon Lakes last weekend.

The Daventry man kept his cool to score 40 points off his 21 handicap to see off nearest challengers Michael Howes 38 points and Paul Craig and Mike Canning, both with 36 points.

There were three twos, Richard Barnes, Bob Thompson and Roy Trim.

Hellidon’s handicap league team have had a decent start to this year’s campaign.

Hoping to better last season’s semi-final loss, so far after a 14-5 defeat at Farthingstone they have won 35-0 at home to Silverstone and a fine win at Overstone 10-8.

This weekend they go to Staverton Park on Saturday afternoon 12.26pm.
