Cyclist’s medal success

ON a day that history was being made in the Tour de France with a fantastic win by Bradley Wiggins, cyclist Vince Jenkins who rides for Leisure Lakes had to tear himself away from the television screen to compete in the West Midlands 10-Mile TT Championship near Evesham on Sunday.

The Leisure Lakes man produced his fastest ever time on this course clocking 24.19 to win the Championship Medal in his Age Group before returning home to see the highlights of a great British win on the Champs-Elysees.

“I have seen Wiggins in action when I have competed in the British Time Trial Championship,” said Vince, “and he is an absolute inspiration to everybody to go out and not only do their best, but to believe that they can win.”
