DAVENTRY bowling duo Brenda Bishop and Vicki Rushall are now through to the zone finals after winning the area final of the ladies’ pairs 21-19 against Barbara Tew and partner from the City of Birmingham.
The opposition will be either Amy Stanton, of Malvern Hills, or Janet Willis, of Westlecot, who have until January 16 to play their area final.
The date of the zone final has yet to be fixed.
This week’s mixed game for Daventry Indoor Bowling Club was six rinks away to Northampton and District and with only two winning rinks Daventry went down 128-95.
Daventry’s highest-winning rink was Audrey Budd, Anne Smith, Alan Davies and Stan Alton who won 23-16 against M Hall.
Other rink scores were Margaret Faulkner, Jack Gardner, Barbara Langdon and Norman Langdon 13 Ian Daverson 30.

The club welcomed Peter Ashbrook who was playing his first game for the club.
And Jack Gardner, Irene and Neil Oxby were also playing their first games for the club.
Bromsgrove were the visitors for the latest Wessex League game with two rinks playing at home and two away.
Daventry’s home rinks performed very well gaining a win and a tie but the away team found the going tough and lost on both rinks.
