HAVING played each other only five weeks ago, when Buckby came out on top, the reverse fixture produced another hard-fought derby.
Daventry pressed early on and had the first-half chance of the game. But Long Buckby soon started to find their feet with James Heighton and Ciaran Bennion working hard to control the midfield.
Midway through the half, Connor Robson found Finn Pickard in the area who fired a low shot past the Daventry keeper to open the scoring and it looked like the floodgates might open.
But the score stayed 1-0 until the break.
Shortly after the restart, Rory Jamieson set up Ed van der Kuil, who fired in an inch-perfect shot, beating the keeper low down.
Brothers Tom and Connor Robson were causing problems for the Daventry defence all game and it was the latter again who set up Finn Pickard for his second and tenth of the season in only four games.
With Buckby’s defence rarely troubled, the game ended in a 3-0 victory to Long Buckby.
