ANGLERS are enjoying a fantastic start to the new season at Ravensthorpe.
This week has been outstanding with a rod average of 7.1 and a 16lb Rainbow – the best for a number of seasons – caught by Mick Griffin.
During the week G Hartley, Bob Day, J Spencer and D Moss all had great catches of 15 plus fish.
Last weekend Mick Griffin and Chris Skillen had 30 fish between them.
Mick’s biggest fish was a cracking 16lb Rainbow taken on a buzzer from a boat off the Ravensthorpe bank and Chris took a fish of 8lb.
On Wednesday, March 21 Ravensthorpe hosted a group from Staffordshire police. John Goodwin had a cracking 12lb Rainbow and returned a further eight.
Water levels below 70 per cent are currently being experienced at Ravensthorpe Reservoir and Pitsford Water.
Due to the risk of soft mud fishing will not be available from some bank areas. Boat fishing is unaffected.
At Ravensthorpe bank angling will be limited and available only from the dam wall. Boat fishing will continue as normal and boats are still available, but book to avoid disappointment.
