Anglers enjoy good catches

FISHING has become more challenging at Ravensthorpe Reservoir with brighter weather and gentle winds.

The dam is producing fish in the morning and evening.

On Sunday, Ravensthorpe Reservoir hosted the Mick Griffin challenge match with a total of 21 anglers catching 48 fish.

The match was won by Pat Flynn with 10lb 10oz. Alex Ferguson was second with 10lb and Graham Robertson was third.

At Pitsford Water good bags of fish are still being caught from the bank and the boats.

Invicta Fly Fishers held a boat match with anglers coming off the water for lunch making for a pleasant day’s fishing.

Several anglers caught with John Mees taking the best bag with eight fish.

Boat anglers have found the best areas to be off the dam end.

Bank anglers have also been getting into good numbers of fish.

Season ticket holders Len Agg and Geoff Adams had good sessions off Stone Barn Point taking several trout.

Best fish of the week was a Rainbow of 5lb 12oz taken by Chris Butcher.

Bank areas to try are Northfields Shore, Stone Barn and Gravells.
