ANGLERS have enjoyed terrific sport this week at Ravensthorpe with a rod average of 6.0.
Big fish this week have been abundant.
Gregg Hartley took the biggest fish of the week at 12lb.
Several other anglers, including Pat Flynn, took fish over 9lb and there were even more over 6lb.
This week has also seen some good hatches of pond olive.
So if you enjoy fishing the olives then get there soon.
The Martins, Swallows and Swifts indicate just how many insects are emerging from the water and they have been feeding in their hundreds.
Mick Griffin’s floating line match went well with 24 anglers accounting for 91 fish.
Top spot went to Vic Byrne at 12lb 4oz, Graham Smith second at 11lb and third place was taken by Pat Flynn at 10lb 9oz.
The match rod average was 3.8.
Pitsford Water continues to fish very well with many anglers reporting catches of up to 30 fish.
Two Belgian anglers on a holiday package reported 60 fish brought to the boat.
Jude Tuffs, part time retail assistant at Pitsford Fishing Lodge, took in excess of 30 fish.
John and Dan Fletcher had 33 fish to the boat on buzzers.
Bank anglers are also catching – the best areas have been Gorse Bank, Pitsford Creek and Gravels.
