DAVENTRY Golf Club captain Nigel Perry has hosted his Captain’s Day at the Norton Road course.
The day started out with the captain hitting the first shot in the annual Flying Ferret in which the members play the same ball around the course and attempt to beat last year’s time – this was achieved with a time of 12 minutes 48 seconds.
In the sweep to guess the time taken the winner was Andrew Davies with an estimated time of 12 minutes 49 seconds.
Andrew donated half his winnings to the Captain’s Charity.
The main event of the day was an 18-hole individual stableford with a shot gun start.
The weather stayed fine but a stiff breeze made playing conditions tricky, but inspite of this good scores were returned.
The presentation of prizes by the captain followed the meal in the clubhouse.
