YOUTH FOOTBALL: Waldock double secures point for Vikings

Cameron Waldock scored twice as Daventry Town Vikings claimed a 2-2 draw with Parklands Tigers in the John Henry League.

Report: Daventry Town twice led in this match through goals from Waldock, but in the end jad to settle for a draw. Waldock fired Town in front early on, only for Tigers to level. Waldock scored again to make it 2-1, but Parklands fought back to equalise. Both sides pushed for a winner that never came.

Drayton Grange Blades were left to rue wasted chances as they went down 2-0 to Thorplands United in the John Henry B League.

Report: Blades started well and worked the Thorplands keeper on a number of times, but lacked any composure.

Thorplands went 1-0 up in the first half after a defensive mix up. Blades then pushed hard but couldn’t beat the keeper, Marshall Adams, Lewis Elkins and Nayan Bryce’s shots all produced good saves.

Thorplands then scored again in the second half to make it 2-0.

Blades did hit the post late on but ran out of time.

Man of the match was awarded to Jonni Pepper for a solid display.
