Report: Saxons fashioned a magnificent start to the New Year with an emphatic 6-1 win at Bilton. Saxons were simply too hot for Bilton to handle as they produced their most complete team performance of the season so far. Unselfish and vocal in their build up play, strong in the tackle, and tracking back in support of team-mates throughout, Saxons put everything together to run out deserved winners. With seven wins from their past 10 matches, Saxons are in a rich vein of form, improving all the time, and are good to watch.

The Saxons’ six goals were made up of a first half hat-trick from Joe Pursey, with 11 now for the season, two from Taylor Noel making it nine for the season so far, and a first Saxons goal for Nathan Hale. Bilton grabbed a consolation goal late on. When called upon Decklyn Hartley was an assured figure in goal, Dylan Overton and Pursey worked tirelessly and man-of-the-match Alex Smith was commanding at the back.

Daventry Vikings Under-12s didn’t have such a good day, as they were on the wrong end of a 6-0 scoreline against Kingsthorpe Jets
Typhoons.
