Shaun Bragg scored SIX goals as Daventry Town Vikings Under-13s hammered Irchester Romans 12-2 to all but seal promotion.
Scorers: Shaun Bragg 6, Harry Norton 2, James Davey, Jamie Holmes, Blaine Chatwin, Archie Martin
Team: Jack Ramsden, Jack Gilbert, Harry Norton, James Davey, Nathan Windsor, Ben Robinson, Blaine Chatwin, Archie Martin, Greg Fisher, Jamie Holmes, Shaun Bragg
Report: After a slow start which saw Irchester taking the lead a fine performance from Daventry all but sealed promotion to the premier league. Shaun Bragg definitely had his shooting boots on bagging six of the 12 goals himself, with Harry scoring twice, a fine free kick from James the captain and one a piece for Blaine, Archie and Jamie. The spirited tackling and excellent passing from the likes of Nathan, Jack Gilbert, Gregg and Ben meant that Daventry, who had no subs for this game, were always likely to score when going forward. With some good saves and great distribution from Jack Ramsden rounded a solid team performance.

The goal set the tempo for the half with Charlie Trayford and Josh Adams coming close, before Noelmade it 2-0. Josh Adams then stepped up to make it 3-0, with the goal of the game, controlling neatly on the edge of the box, turning and bending in a peach of a goal with his right foot. It was 4-0 by half-time, with Joe Percey hammering home the rebound after his penalty had been saved. In the second half Saxons continued to press, but failed to score any more goals.

Daventry were dominant now, and Oliver Starling hit a fantastic goal with 15 minutes remaining. Daventry pressed and pressed but time was against them.
