Peterborough Sports will be a tough nut to crack though, as they currently sit third.
Against Irchester, Woodford took an early grip with Ben Foster’s eighth minute opener and a second from Joe Henderson a minute later.
Mitch Blande put Irchester back in the game after 25 minutes, but an effective Woodford response brought two goals from Paul Beevor after 29 and 35 minutes.

Sileby dominated the first half and were 1-0 up on 20 minutes through Stuart McMichael, and they doubled their lead seven minutes later through Joel Gyasi.
Buckby improved in the second half, and pulled a goal back in stoppage time theough a penalty from Wes Emery, but they couldn’t find an equaliser, despite Sileby playing out the closing stages with 10 men after Billy Shepherd’s sending off.
Buckby are without a game on Saturday, but travel to Oadby next midweek.
