Long Buckby stretched their unbeaten home run in the UCL Premier Division to three matches as they drew 1-1 with Wellingborough Town on Saturday.
It was a big improvement for Phil Mason’s men, who were trounced 6-0 by the Doughboys at the Dog & Duck only last month. A Stuart Smeathers goal from a corner two minutes past the hour looked like condemning one of his former clubs to defeat.
But Josh Crawley popped up with the Bucks point saver seven minutes from time, rounding Jamie Brassington to slot home.
It was the least Buckby deserved after creating the better chances and twice striking the woodwork.
Buckby return to premier division action on Saturday when they travel to Newport Pagnell Town, the match having been postponed a fortnight ago.
Long Buckby: Justin Cergy, Ridge Essilfie, Dan Bucciero, Matt Hayes, Robson Kightley, Dan Childs, Jean Dakouri, Joe Power, Josh Crawley, Nathan Stewart (Leon Edwards),, Jon Crockett.
Two goals in the final 12 minutes condemned Woodford United to a 3-1 defeat to Potton in the UCL KO Cup at Byfield Road.
It was a much-improved performance from the Reds.
In an even first half Potton were closest to a goal when James Fitzgibbon headed a Joe Aris cross against the bar.
Gary Ansell-Carter gave Potton the lead after 68 minutes, finishing from close in after a Callum Forster free kick was flicked on.
But Woodford were on terms a minute later thanks to an own goal.
A Nick Finney double strike after 78 and 83 minutes won the tie for Potton.
Woodford return to UCL Division One action on Saturday when they travel to Rushden & Higham.
