Town win but it’s a close call

An early second-half goal from captain Tom Fountain enabled 10-man Daventry Town to see-off the determined challenge of Central Division play-off rivals Aylesbury at a muddy Communications Park on Tuesday night.

It was not all good news though for the Town as recent-signing Callum Burgess suffered a suspected broken ankle after half an hour while his partner in central defence, Aaron Parkinson, was sent off for a second bookable offence midway through the second period.
