AN end-to-end game ended in a 4-3 Rugby and District Sunday League Division One win over Community Relations Rugby for AFC Casey’s.
High-flying Community had already beaten Casey’s in their home fixture, but it was a different story this time around.
Casey’s took an early lead through Noel, only for Community to hit back to lead 2-1.
However with Mansell, Trill, Clarke and newly-arrived Dan Hutchinson putting pressure on, Casey’s equalised just before the break as Stuart Clarke hammered home a penalty.
Community Relations again took the lead in the second half, but strikes from Dudgoen and Roberts won it for Casey’s.
On Sunday, Casey’s face Netherton United from Peterborough in the quarter-final of the NFA Sunday Cup at Staverton Park (ko 10.30am).
In the Rugby & District Sunday League Division Two, Casey’s Reserves suffered a 2-1 defeat to Dunchurch in the top of the table clash.
Leaders Dunchurch were frustrated in the first-half, which ended 0-0, but they scored twice early in the second half to lead 2-0.
Sam Burke pulled one back for Casey’s, and despite piling on the pressure they couldn’t find an equaliser.
Casey’s play London Calling in Rugby in the Hospital Cup this Sunday.
