Casey’s secured a semi-final place in the The Rugby Hospital Cup with a 3-2 win in their final group game against rivals Barley Mow Rugby.
Mow took an early lead , but Casey’s weathered the early storm and began to put some decent football moves together.
They were level at half-time after Leigh Roberts hammered home a superb volley.
The second half saw Casey’s produce some excellent football culminating with strikes from livewire Alex Chaplin and another from Roberts to put them 3-1 ahead.
It should have been all over, but Casey’s struck the woodwork on several occasions and the Barley keeper made a number of superb saves.
Barley threw everything at Casey’s in the last few minutes and capitalised on some defensive hesitancy to force the ball home from close range to make it 3-2.
It was a nail biting end to the game, but Casey’s held on and will now face The Bell of Rugby in the last four on April 20.
This weekend Casey’s are away to the Bell in the league.
