Casey’s returned to league action after the heartbreak of their NFA Sunday Cup defeat and secured a point from a 2-2 draw with London Calling of Rugby.
Casey’s played well, but couldn’t seal the win against a side who beat them earlier in the season.
Indeed, another defeat looked on the cards as Calling led 2-0 at half-time with two late goals.
But Stuart Clarke, Alex OConnor, Richard Rogers and Leigh Roberts were the key men in a magnificent fightback in the second half.
Rogers pulled the first goal back, Calling then had a man sent off, and the equaliser came from skipper Clarke.
Casey’s Reserves also drew, 3-3 against Red Lion Hillmorton in the Rugby & District League Division Two.
Casey’s endured a torrid first half, and it was down to the efforts of goalkeeper Jordan Shingler that they only trailed 2-1 at half-time. Casey’s goal coming from Josh Hyams.
The second half saw an improved performance from Casey’s and Rob Horne grabbed the equaliser, before Johnjoe Stompolokis fired Casey’s into the lead for the first time.
However, the home side scored an injury time equaliser.
This Sunday, Casey’s travel to Northampton to take on Dallington Heath in the NFA Sunday Shield (ko 10.30pm).
