SOCCER SEVENS: Dankburn deliver as they see off champions Saxons

Dankburn Rovers made a fine start to the new Sunday League season coming out on top against champions Saxons Sevens.

Josh Hyams put Saxons ahead at half time but second half goals from Anthony Hamilton and Liam Kenny sealed the three points.

Inter ran out 3-1 winners against Birmingham Pity. Sam Birtwistle led the way with a well taken double, Kiefer McCleary completed Inter’s scoring. Jordan Brown was on target for Pity.

Murder on Zidanes Floor were 5-1 winners against Admiral Nelson.

Richard Rogers and Sam Robinson both weighed in with braces, Dan Wilkes also found the net. Ben Hallett finished well for the Nelson. Olimpic Daventry and Boca Seniors shared the spoils after a 2-2 draw.

New signings Darren Taylor and Ryan Swann were both on target for Boca.

Vadim Vlas and Jamie McKenzie levelled things up. FCG were 5-1 winners against Puyol Pantsdown.

Tom Freezer led the way with a double, Dean Manderfield, Jack Wise and Dan Smith all hit the net.

Matt Fowkes had earlier given Puyol the lead.

Four-star DGFC stay top of Thursday pile

IN the Thursday League, DGFC remain top of the table after a 4-2 victory against second placed Teenage Mutant Ninja Skrtels.

Darren Taylor, Adam Cox, Jack Wise and Jamie Sedgley secured the victory. 
Kyle Young fired a double for Skrtels.

RYN Persie were 2-1 winners against Black Knights. Ricky Jones and Joe Hassett scoring the match winning goals. Arron Carter pulled a goal back midway through the second half but Persie held on for the three points.

Millwall ran out 8-1 winners against LMA. The league’s leading marksman Dan Renshaw led the way with a four haul, Scott Cross hit a double, Craig Hyde and Nick Saker completed the scoring. Liam Fuller’s five strike got LMA in the scoresheet.

Boca Seniors continued their fine form with a 6-0 win against Forgone Conclusion. Liam Pickard and Henry Spears both fired braces, Ian Waldock and Josh Payne sealed the win. Supporting Lisbon’s were 5-2 winners against Olympiacos. Matt Farrell and Chris Trill hit a brace apiece and Alex Kibblewhite also found the net. Jack Wise and Henry Spears replied for Olympiacos.

Monday League starts

Soccer Sevens’ Monday evening 5-a-side football league is kicking next Monday (January 26) at Daventry Town FC 3G Pitches.
