Long Buckby will be on a revenge mission when they return to UCL premier division action on Saturday with a trip to leaders Deeping Rangers.
Deeping have lost just once this season, but dropped points at home on Tuesday night when they were held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Boston Town.
That result ended a run of nine straight league wins stretching back to the opening day of the season, when they were beaten at home 4-2 by AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
Buckby boss Phil Mason knows only too well how tough a task his team face in this match, as last month Buckby were hammered 7-2 at home by a rampant Deeping side at Station Road.
Buckby’s scheduled clash at Huntingdon on Wednesday night was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Nkosi Mzungwana was the goal star as Long Buckby left it late to secure a 3-3 draw at Sleaford Town in the UCL Premier Division on Saturday.
The substitute secured a share of the spoils for Phil Mason’s men, scoring in the 89th minute.
The point moved Sleaford out of the relegation zone but after conceding such a late equaliser they will see it as two points lost.
Veteran striker Howard Forinton gave the Bucks the lead after seven minutes.
A well-taken Gavin Gordon goal hauled Town on terms on the half hour and they went ahead nine minutes later through Scott Coupland.
Dan Bucciero squared the contest with a 47th minute Buckby equaliser.
With nine minutes to play Tom Siddons restored the Town advantage, but two points slipped through Sleaford’s grasp when Mzungwana scored the third for the visitors.
Long Buckby team v Sleaford: Adrian Anderson, Dan Childs, Todd Sawko, Liam O’Neill, Ben Oddy, Jon Crockett, Dan Bucciero (Joe Power), Jean Dakouri (Nkosi Mzungwana), Josh Crawley, Howard Forinton, Wes Emery.
