DAVENTRY Town ladies booked their place in the County Cup final after a close victory against Peterborough Northern Star.
Daventry held strong and took the lead through Zoe Haddon with a fine low drive from 12 yards.
Peterborough came back and on 35 minutes converted a fine strike from a well-taken corner.
The scores were level at the break with the Town defending well for the last five minutes.
The second-half started the same as the first and finished with Peterborough pressuring the Daventry defence.
Then a mix-up and players out of position enabled the Northern Star winger space and the cross deflected over the home keeper.
An impressive solo run from Nicole Evans was finished off from close range by Lauren Roberts.
Daventry had the momentum after equalising and attacked the box at pace. This resulted in a foul on Evans who stepped up to net the spot kick and give The Town a 3-2 lead.
In the last 10 minutes, Peterborough threw everything forward but Daventry held strong to make the County Cup Final for the first time.
