Junior football round-up

DTFC U11s 8 Grange Park Rangers Red 2 Daventry started with early chances with Brandon getting the first Charlie adding to the score. Grange Park pulled one back before half-time.

The second-half saw Daventry come out passing the ball well and with Ollie and Ben getting his first.

The goals kept coming with Aston then Ben’s second with a good goal and then Freddie making it 7-1.

Grange park put a couple of passes together and got their second. And with Ben getting his hat-trick the game ended 8-2, with man of the match going to Aaron and Lewis for good defending.

Drayton Grange Blades U13s 3 Moulton Fields 2

Blades saw the season to an end with a very good win against Moulton Fields.

An end to end game from the start saw chance after chance go begging in what was a cracking game of football.

Moulton opened the scoring and Blades hit back with a Connor Keating close-range effort.

Moulton scored again before Greg Anayiotos scored a wonderful goal hitting an absolute screamer from 20 yards to level things before half-time.

Blades took the lead early in the second-half with Connor Keating getting his second – a great strike direct from a corner.

There was still time for great saves from both keepers, missed chances and a penalty miss for Moulton before the end.

Jack Creaney won maqn of the match for an awesome display at centre back.

Gregory got off to a good start but the Blades did get in to their stride and played well.

Then Gregory blasted in the opener. In the second-half the Blades started well but Gregory pressured them and slotted in three more goals.

With the league already wrapped up, the Blades unbeaten record ended on the last game of the season when they let in a last-minute goal. A typical end-of-season game with nothing to play for. Excellent performance from man of the match Mitch. Well done Blades for an excellent season.

D Grange Blades U12s 11 Thorplands Utd 1

Blades played good football in patches against a spirited Thorplands team.

They were indebted to their keeper Jacob Ireland in the first-half for two crucial saves to enable them to go into the break two goals to the good.

Goals were shared among the strikers with Joe Squirrell 6, Nathan Butler 2, Christian Harper 2 and 1 for Kian Daniels, giving them a comprehensive victory in the end.

Man of the match was Christian Harper.

Daventry Town U12 Vikings 6 Obelisk Utd 1

The visitors took a surprise early lead from the penalty spot before Daventry took control of the game.

Sam Flockhart levelled just before half-time.

Vikings pressure finally told in the second-half.

Flockhart netted a further two. Blaine Evans, Bradley Osbourn and Thomas Davies all finding the net in a pleasing second-half display.

Bruce Bateman put in a great shift at left back to share the man of the match plaudits with Sam.
