Drayton Grange Blades U15s 3

Towcester 4

A close game in which Drayton led twice but saw them eventually lose after four mistakes gave Towcester the win.

A goal from Ryan Goodman levelled the scores at half-time then Blades took the lead twice through a Nico Parfitt penalty and a well worked Josh Bellis goal. Towcester battled and caused Drayton to give the game away. Man of the Match was Aaron Thresher.

Daventry Town Vikings U9s 0

Kingsthorpe Jets 4

Daventry kept the score sheet clean until half-time, but the long Christmas break and cancelled matches in the bad weather took their toll with an own goal and three more goals to follow for Kinsgsthorpe leaving the final score 0-4 to Kingsthorpe Jets.

Long Buckby U11s 2

Falcons White 1

The first-half saw Buckby playing downhill with the breeze behind them and Alfie made a defence-splitting run and slotted home to give Buckby the lead.

In the second-half both teams worked hard and Falcons broke through to equalise. Further chances fell to both teams and an excellent corner from Isaac made its way through the pack to Conor whose shot was only parried for Brandon to drive home to seal the win.

Drayton Grange Blades U12s 3

Heyford Athletic 2

Blades stormed out of the blocks in this game and found themselves two goals to the good in the opening quarter.

Joe Squirrel opened the scoring with a superb individual goal, winning the ball just inside Heyford’s half, beating three players, before putting the ball into the top corner.

The second soon followed with Joe Squirrel’s free-kick headed in by Layton Bilson. Heyford pulled a goal back before Christian Harper’s neat finish into the corner sent the Blades in three one at the break.

The second-half saw Heyford come back into the game and they made it a nervous finish with a goal with eight minutes to go. But Blades hung on for a well-deserved victory.

Chris Berrevoets scored an excellent individual goal mid-way through the second-half after good link up play. Stephen Dwyer had an excellent day and was awarded man of the match.

Daventry Town Saxons U9s 4

Parklands Tigers Amber 5

A fantastic second-half performance from the Saxons nearly turned the game around after being 4-1 down at half-time.

A penalty save from Ryan Griffin, a hat-trick from Sam Clements and a goal and man of match performance from Enrico Forgione was not enough to sneak a win as Parklands held on.

Drayton Grange Blades U11s 2

Welland Valley U11s 2

The Blades played well in the first-half and held off Welland Valley but were unlucky to concede a goal from a corner. In the second-half Blades upped their game and scored a great goal from Joseph.

They kept pressure on and another goal came from Brady. A mistake from defence let the Valley equalise.

Daventry Town U12s Danes 0

Towcester 12

Danes matched Towcester in the early stages but sadly lapses at the back again proved their downfall. Jay Reesby worked hard throughout. Dane’s keeper Connor Porter, again drew plaudits from both sets of coaches and parents and deserved man of the match.

Long Buckby U10s 2

Welford Victoria 1

Nathan Hoffman scored the opening goal with a great glancing header, following a cross from the wing by Kieran Mitchell.

A second goal followed by Sam Dorran again created by Mitchell thanks to a pass threaded through the midfield. Welford got one back thanks to a skilful piece of dribbling.

The second-half was close with both goalkeepers making good saves. Joe Murdoch was Buckby’s man of the match making a number of great saves to keep his team in the game.
