Daventry Town have completed their pre-season programme ahead of the new campaign - and they will play host to Football League clubs Peterborough United and Northampton Town.
Neighbours Brackley Town are also coming to Communications Park, and five other teams will also visit Daventry in a hectic schedule from July 8 through to August 5.
The Cobblers friendly was confirmed this week, but it is likely to be a second string Sixfields side that makes the trip, as the match is just five days before they start their Sky Bet League Two campaign.
Brackley are the first of visitors to Communications Park on Tuesday, July 8. The Saints finished seventh in the Conference North last season.
On Saturday, July 12, Northern Premier League Division One South club Coalville make the short journey to Daventry from north Leicestershire.
Wellingborough Town visit Daventry on Tuesday, July 15, and memories of Daventry’s FA Cup run of last season will be rekindled by the visit of Hartley Wintney on Saturday, July 26. Daventry beat Hartley Wintney in Hampshire by 6-1 to set up a memorable FA Cup first round visit to the Proact Stadium, Chesterfield.
Daventry host league one side Peterborough United, the current holders of the Football League Trophy, on Tuesday, July 29, in the Maunsell Cup Final at Communications Park, and Posh boss Darran Ferguson has promised to bring a strong team to compete for the trophy.
Spartan South Midlands Football League Premier Division club Ampthill FC are in town on Saturday, August 2, and the Cobblers complete their pre-season games with a visit to Daventry on Tuesday, August 5.
The Cobblers contacted Daventry to arrange the match, and manager Chris Wilder will bring his team to Communications Park, just five days before the Cobblers’ Sky Bet League Two season starts in earnest.
The match will see a Cobblers XI, likely to feature a number of younger players and those in need of extra pre-season minutes.
