Darran Foster says his Daventry Town side are ‘there to be shot down’ after their stunning start to the season.

Town have won all six of their games in Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central, scoring 21 goals in the process.

They sit top of the table heading into this afternoon’s game against Beaconsfield SYCOB at Communications Park (Sat, ko 3pm).

And Foster, who steered his side to a 6-1 FA Cup win against Berkhamsted last Saturday, is wary of the esteem his side are now held in by their league rivals.

He said: “We now have a very tough run of games.

“We play Beaconsfield SYCOB on Saturday, and then Dunstable Town and Egham Town.

“All three clubs are sitting in the top six of the league table and these will be very hard games.

“Only the best possible performances will see us through to victory.

“Because we have started so well, every club will want to beat us, and we are there to be shot down. Every game will get harder, whoever we are up against.

“We fear no one, but it is essential we maintain the same attitude, belief and work ethic to keep us there.”
