Daventry Town have been handed a home tie against Maidenhead United in the first round of the FA Trophy.

Darran Foster’s men have been rewarded for their third qualifyinbg round win over Ramgsate on Saturday with a Communications Park date against the Skrill South strugglers.

Maidenhead are currently 17th in their league, which is two steps above Daventry’s, and were 1-0 winners over Eastbourne in the Trophy on Saturday.

That was the Berkshire side’s first win in all competitions since early September.

Maidenhead enjoyed a fantastic start to the season, and were unbeaten in their opening six games, but they haven’t secured a league win since winning 2-0 at Gosport on September 7.

They have only secured two league points from their past 10 matches.

They are nicknamed the Magpies and are managed by Hippolyte Johnson, who has been in charge at York Road since 2006.

Daventry are back in Calor League Division One Central action tomorrow night (Tues) when they entertain Uxbridge (Ko 7.45pm).
