Drayton Grange eased into the next round of the NFA Lower Junior Cup with an easy 3-0 win over Irchester United Reserves.
Grange made light work of their UCL opponents, sealing the win thanks to goals from Richard O’Malley, Darren Taylor and Chris Trill.
Grange will be hoping to get back to league action next weekend, as their recent inactivity has seen them slip to third place in the Northants Combination Division One.
The title is still very much in Grange’s hands though, as they are three points behind leaders Burton United with four games in hand, and level on points with second-placed Clipston, with five games in hand.
Grange are at lowly Medbourne on Saturday.
Weedon missed the chance to close to within two points of Drayton Grange as they drew 2-2 with Corby Grampian.
Scorers for the villagers were Ashley Brown and Thomas Murfitt.
The result sees Weedon stay in fifth place in the league table, four points behind Grange having played two games more.
On Saturday, Weedon are also on the road as they go to Kettering Orchard Park.
In division two, West Haddon Albion played their part in a five-goal thriller against Stanwick, but came out on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline.
The men on the mark for Haddon were Elliott Grice and Tom Yorston.
